Audit Specialist

- Annual Salary: $72,000 - $95,000.00
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Audit Specialist supports the Bank's internal audit function by assisting with audit engagements, report preparation, audit issue follow-up, and regulatory compliance reviews. This role collaborates with business units and auditors to evaluate internal controls, monitor corrective actions, and help ensure compliance with Bank policies and applicable banking regulations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assist in conducting branch/department audit throughout operating business units.
- Assist in preparation of branch/department audit reports that are distributed to management.
- Support Internal Audit/Loan Review Manager in Internal Audit Projects across the organization.
- Follow up on reported audit findings to ascertain whether remediation and appropriate actions were taken and implemented by the operating business units.
- Assist external/parent bank audit with testing in conjunction with the year-end external audit when necessary.
- Assist and compile Audit Committee meeting packages for timely submission.
- Coordinate and prepare the audit file with the consultants.
- Prepares project-specific reports and overall monthly/quarterly/annual reports summarizing the audit/review activities and the results of other analysis performed.
- Completes all necessary training. Maintains knowledge of current Bank policies and procedures and federal/state regulations.
- Adheres to all company policies and procedures, as well as all applicable banking rules, regulations and laws (including BSA/AML).
- Performs other duties/tasks as necessary/assigned, which may include providing assistance and support to other bank personnel, functions, or areas.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education: College Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or other fields when combined with at least 3 years of business/banking related experience.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years’ banking experience, mostly in lending and/or audit functions.
- Skills / Ability: Research/data analytical skills, good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge: Audit, Lending, Business, Economics, Banking, Microsoft Office Applications.
- Training Courses Required: Online and on-the-job training will be provided and required during employment.
